If you’re planning a Camden Maine wedding, early May is such a good time to do it. You get that coastal Maine feel without the summer crowds, the light is soft, and everything just feels a little more relaxed.
Savannah and Gabe’s day on May 7th was exactly that. Laid back, fun, and full of moments that actually felt like them.
If you’re still figuring out where to get married along the coast, you can check out more of my Maine weddings and locations here.
Getting Ready at 16 Bay View
They both got ready at 16 Bay View, which is one of my favorite spots in town. The brick interiors have so much character and photograph so well without needing anything extra.
Also, quick story because this one is wild. Savannah’s dress had been completely ruined by a seamstress before the wedding. Like actually caught on fire. Somehow, another seamstress in Portland, Maine stepped in and fixed it in time, and you would never know. It ended up being perfect.
First Look at Mount Battie in Camden Hills State Park
We headed up to Mount Battie in Camden Hills State Park for their first look, and if you’ve never been, the view alone is reason enough to go.
They kept this part of the day really intentional. They exchanged gifts, popped champagne, and just hung out together for a bit before everything started. It didn’t feel rushed at all, which I feel like is rare on a wedding day.
Waterfront Ceremony for a Camden Maine Wedding
Their ceremony was in a beautiful building overlooking the water, which honestly is hard to beat for a Camden Maine Wedding.
One of my favorite parts of the day was how they handled the processional. Savannah walked herself halfway down the aisle, and then Gabe came to meet her. They walked the rest together, which felt really true to them as a couple.
Cocktail Hour and Reception at 16 Bay View
After the ceremony, everyone headed back to 16 Bay View for cocktail hour and the reception.
This is one of those venues where you really don’t need to do much. The exposed brick, the windows, all the little details already make the space feel full. It’s a good mix of polished and relaxed, which matched their vibe perfectly.
Sunset Portraits on the Camden Harbor Dock
We snuck out for sunset portraits on the dock, and this is your reminder that you don’t need anything complicated for good photos in coastal Maine.
Water, a dock, and good light. That’s it.
Dance Floor Energy to End the Night
They wrapped up the night with a full-on dance party, which felt very on brand for them. Their people showed up, the energy stayed high, and it was the perfect way to end the day.
