My Credentials
Hi, I’m Hattie, and I actually live in the White Mountains year-round! I spend so much time adventuring here with my two dogs and my partner, so I have endless options up my sleeve for your perfect White Mountain elopement.
One of my sweet pups is reactive, so I’ve spent countless hours scouting out trails that are low traffic for her, and those trails also just happen to be great for elopements! If you want seclusion and epic views, we should definitely chat.

Top White Mountain Elopement Locations
Here are some of the most stunning and elopement-friendly areas in the Whites:
1. Franconia Notch State Park
Home to Artist’s Bluff, Echo Lake, and Cannon Mountain Fraconia Notch has plenty of epic views with little to no hiking required. These locations can be busier, though (you won’t catch me at Artist’s Bluff in the fall at sunset), so if you’re looking for seclusion for your White Mountain elopement, you’ll probably want to opt for a sunrise elopement or the off-season!

2. Crawford Notch
Epic cliffs, amazing waterfalls, and some of my favorite hikes! Crawford Notch is a hub for hiking some of New Hampshire’s 4,000-footers, but it also has many roadside attractions for couples who don’t want to hike too far for a good view.

3. Mount Willard
A short hike with a huuuge pay off! This hike is beautiful year-round, and actually in Crawford Notch, but it felt important to mention it separately. It’s another popular hike, so I recommend sunrise for more of a chance of privacy.

4. Kancamagus Highway
You’ll find a little bit of everything along “The Kanc”, river spots, pull-offs with mountain views, and quiet trails.

5. North Conway Area
Home to the iconic Cathedral Ledge which you can drive up for your ceremony, and many other beautiful locations, North Conway and its surrounding areas are truly elopement heaven.

What season should you choose for your White Mountain Elopement?
That really depends on what you feel most drawn to.
A lot of couples choose fall for the foliage, and it’s absolutely beautiful. But if you’re a summer couple through and through and can’t imagine your day without jumping in a lake or staying out until golden light at 8 pm, then choose summer.
Don’t pick your season based on trends. Pick the one that feels the most like you. Your elopement should reflect the season you love most, not the one the internet says is “best.”
Fall : Peak foliage + crisp air = iconic New England vibes.

Summer: Lush greenery, longer days, and wildflowers.

Winter: Snow-covered peaks and cozy, intimate vibes for adventurous couples.

Spring: Quieter trails and rushing waterfalls, though some areas may be muddy or snowy.

Legal Stuff: Getting Married in NH
Getting married (legally) shouldn’t be complicated, and it sure isn’t in the Granite State.
- You don’t have to be a resident to get married in NH
- Get your marriage license at any town clerk’s office in the state
- There’s no waiting period, so you can elope the same day you get your license!
- You’ll need an ordained officiant (hi, I’m ordained!), but you don’t need witnesses

Including Your Dog in Your White Mountain Elopement
Want your dog at your White Mountains elopement?
Start with their personality and comfort level.
Plan for trail logistics: water, treats, leash, breaks.
Consider having a trusted friend help.
And if they can’t join you? Incorporate them in meaningful details instead.
Your elopement should reflect your whole family, furry members included.
Want more tips on how to include your dog? I have a whole blog post on this!
