Schooner Head Picnic Elopement

A Perfect Blend of Intimacy & Family

Julie and Brandon’s summer Schooner Head picnic elopement was the perfect mix of private moments and family celebration. If you’re dreaming of an intimate wedding day that includes your loved ones, their story is full of inspiration!

First Look on the Rocky Coast

Julie and Brandon shared their first look at Schooner Head, a quiet, scenic spot along Acadia’s rugged coastline. With only the sound of the waves and seagulls in the background, they had a beautiful, private moment together before the day’s adventures began.

Exploring Gorham Mountain Trail

After their first look, we made our way to Gorham Mountain Trail for some woodsy portraits bathed in magical afternoon light. Taking this time together allowed them to soak in the day—just the two of them—before meeting up with their families for the ceremony.

An Oceanside Ceremony

Otter Point made for the perfect ceremony location, with stunning ocean views and plenty of flat rock surfaces that made it accessible for their loved ones. Julie and Brandon incorporated a handfasting ritual, tying their hands together as a symbol of their lifelong commitment. It was such a heartfelt, unique touch to their ceremony!

A Classic Maine Elopement Picnic—Lobster Rolls & Cake

After saying “I do,” Julie, Brandon, and their families celebrated with the ultimate Maine picnic—lobster rolls, lemon blueberry cake, and breathtaking ocean views. The Travelin Lobster made it easy to serve up fresh, delicious lobster rolls, while Honey and Lace Baking Co crafted the most stunning (and delicious!) cake to complete the feast.

Summer in Maine—The Perfect Backdrop

Acadia in the summer is absolutely breathtaking! While the park can be busy, it’s usually not as crowded as peak fall foliage season. Keep in mind that summer days can get warm—if you’re not a fan of the heat, you might want to consider a late spring or early fall elopement instead.
