A Mountain Top Resort Wedding Weekend in Vermont

Allie and Mike’s wedding weekend at Mountain Top Resort in Vermont was truly magical. These two have been together for over 10 years, and adopted their pup Rigby right at the very beginning of their relationship. Even at 12 years old, he was still able to be such a special part of their wedding day.

If you’re dreaming of a Mountain Top Inn & Resort wedding, this venue is the perfect place for a full wedding weekend. With multiple locations across the property, you can completely change the feel of each event, from your welcome party to your ceremony to your reception.

Allie and Mike hosted their welcome party at the Lakefront Beach Pavilion, said their vows at the Knoll, and celebrated in the Barn. The entire weekend felt cohesive while still giving each part of the celebration its own unique atmosphere. Mountain Top Resort truly strikes that balance between elegance and rustic charm, making it one of the most unique Vermont wedding venues.

Ceremony & Reception Spaces at Mountain Top Resort

One of the best parts of planning a Mountain Top Inn wedding is the variety of spaces available throughout the property.

The Knoll (Ceremony Site)

This is where Allie and Mike held their ceremony. With sweeping mountain views and a beautiful arbor, it’s hard to imagine a more scenic place to say your vows. They went all out with florals, which made the entire space feel even more elevated and vibrant.

The Barn (Reception Space)

The Barn is the perfect mix of rustic and refined. It has that classic Vermont feel, while still feeling elevated and intentional. Allie and Mike filled the space with candles, creating such a warm, intimate atmosphere for their reception.

The Lakefront Beach Pavilion (Welcome Party Location)

This is where they hosted their welcome party, and it couldn’t have been more fun. Guests were able to play lawn games by the water, gather around the fire, and enjoy dinner inside the pavilion before dancing the night away.

The Terrace (Winter/Spring Ceremony Option)

Mountain Top Resort’s terrace offers slate flooring and unobstructed mountain views, making it a stunning ceremony location year-round—especially when it’s covered in snow.

The Loft (Indoor Ceremony or Event Space)

Located on the second floor of the Barn, this airy space is perfect for a rain plan ceremony or an indoor option if that’s more your style. It also works beautifully for welcome dinners. As a bonus, you can look down at your cocktail hour from the Loft.

The Mountain Top Restaurant (Intimate Gatherings)

Located in the Main Lodge, this space is ideal for smaller rehearsal dinners, welcome parties, or a farewell brunch. It would also make such a cozy setting for an intimate wedding reception.

No matter which space you choose, a Mountain Top Resort wedding weekend gives you so much flexibility to create a celebration that feels completely your own.

The Perks of a Mountain Top Resort Wedding Weekend

Not only is this Vermont mountain wedding venue beautiful, it’s also incredibly well-run, which makes your entire weekend feel seamless. A few of my favorite things:

On-site lodging for your guests

Mountain Top Resort can accommodate up to 290 guests, making it ideal for a full wedding weekend. Having everyone stay on-site creates a more connected and relaxed experience.

In-house catering and florals

The food is genuinely amazing, and their floral team creates stunning designs. Allie and Mike’s florals were such a highlight of the day.

An experienced planning team

The on-site planners truly know what they’re doing. They brought everything together seamlessly and made the Barn look absolutely stunning for the reception.

Shuttles around the property

The property is huge (in the best way), and the shuttle system makes it easy to move between locations. It also means each part of your Mountain Top Inn wedding can feel private and intentional.

Endless photo locations

You want photos in front of a lake? Done. Photos with horses? They’ve got that too. Epic nighttime shots in front of a black barn? Yep. Gorgeous gardens and wide open green spaces? Plenty of those.

A Sunset Disco Welcome Party at Mountain Top Resort

Allie and Mike’s welcome party at the Lakefront Beach Pavilion was easily one of the most fun I’ve ever experienced—and such a perfect way to kick off a Mountain Top Resort wedding weekend.

After an intimate rehearsal dinner with family, they invited all of their guests to join them for a sunset celebration by the lake. Guests dressed in sunset-inspired colors, hung out by the water, made s’mores, and enjoyed pizza before dancing the night away.

The night ended with a DJ set by one of their close friends, which made it feel even more personal.

And the decor… truly unreal.

A Summer Mountain Top Resort Wedding Day

Their wedding day had such a natural, effortless flow to it.

From a quiet, emotional first look to a heartfelt ceremony overlooking the mountains, every part of the day felt meaningful. Rigby made his appearance, of course, and the cocktail hour was filled with live music and so much joy.

The reception felt warm and intimate, with toasts that had everyone laughing one minute and tearing up the next.

Allie and Mike created a day that felt completely true to them, and it was such an honor to document their Mountain Top Resort wedding.

Why I Love Film Photography for Mountain Weddings

Film has a way of slowing everything down. It adds a softness and depth that feels so nostalgic, and it brings a different kind of balance to a full gallery.

There’s just something about the grain, the tones, and the way it captures light, especially in a setting like a Vermont mountain wedding, that digital can’t quite replicate.

Allie and Mike already loved documenting their life on film, so incorporating it into their wedding day felt like such a natural extension of who they are.

I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.
